This Old Doll's
MADAME ALEXANDER DOLLS
18" Maggie

Found this dress in an auction lot. It's unusual in that it has a tiny zipper up the back. It's navy taffeta with white accents. I know there was a promotion for Zepher Zippers in the early 50s that accounted for several doll makers to use them in their designs. The dress is factory made but not tagged. It reminds me of Dior's "New Look" after the war. So I made her the hat my mother would have worn with it. The doll is Maggie with a floss hairdo. It's gathered up in the back and falls to the nape of the neck in a cascade of tiny sausage curls.
